findmypast.com     Find the GRO reference for births, marriages and deaths entries (1837- 2004). This is on a pay per view basis.


Ancestry.co.uk     Subscription based site, offers what it claims is the largest collection of family history records on the Web. Including England and Wales civil registration and searchable census records.


Bristol Register Office     A local source of birth, marriage and death records. Run by some very busy, dedicated and helpful staff.


Certificates online     The General Register Office for England and Wales online ordering service for ordering copies of birth, marriage and death certificates.


Freebmd     A free search for the GRO reference for births, marriages and deaths entries (1837-1983)can be made although the whole index has not been transcribed and it can be very busy.


Genesreunited     A great site, it’s free to register but a subscription is required to make full use of the site. You can:- Trace your ancestors - Build your family tree - Reunite with relatives you've lost contact with and discover relatives you never knew you had.
